This week Datawrapper introduces a new visualization type which will come a bit as a surprise: It is an additional table, which complements the already existing longer data table longtime users know well. So, from now on there will be a “short table” and a “long table”.
What is this new, “short table” good for? As you know, with many topics there is some data, but not enough to justify a good, comparative bar or line chart. Still, you would want to publish the data prominently, not hide it in the text.
This is what this new table is for. We have a Datawrapper Academy post to show what you can do with it, based on quite typical example. We think that many of our users will welcome this very basic, but effective way to have key numbers in an article.
